Transgender, non-binary, genderqueer, gender nonconforming, and gender-questioning people come to therapy looking for a variety of things, which may include:
- A place to explore their genders and the impact that being trans or gender nonconforming has on their relationships, careers, and lives
- The chance to focus on other issues in therapy without having to waste time educating their therapist about their gender identity
- Help and support during the process of transition, whatever that means to them
- Letters needed for various aspects of their transitions
I am passionate about working with and supporting clients in all of these situations. I use an informed consent model with trans and gender nonconforming clients who are seeking transition support. My own trans identity offers me insights and perspective that inform my work. It is part of the reason I have such deep empathy for my clients of all genders.
If you are looking for a trans-affirming therapist, please feel free to contact me!
